Chapter 19

Kyle sat and ate breakfast in his room the next morning speaking with Anna. “I enhanced her and put her into bed. I think I made another friend.” I finished telling her about the night with Sophia, a smile on my face.

“What exactly can you and Hellen do now?” I inquired.

Anna seemed to swell up, flexing her arms to show her muscles. “Everything is better now. I can process information, retain information, and make decisions faster. Every sense is enhanced by at least three times what it was before. I’m so strong and fast now. I’ve started to be able to cycle power through my body. You didn’t notice me keeping up with you while we exercised. That would have been beyond impossible before. We didn’t develop an affinity for an element, but that is super rare in humans.”

“I thought it was just superficial growth. I noticed that your beauty had increased but I thought that was it. I didn’t realize the extent of it.”

“That’s a very mundane way of putting it, but yes, I am now more attractive. It’s annoying, it makes me stand out more. It’s harder to do my job.”

“I’m sorry I made you more pretty?”

“I apologize, I didn’t mean it like that. I speak for Hellen as well. We are grateful for what you have done to us. You know you’re quite handsome yourself.”

“You think so? I know I’ve always looked alright. My physique is crazy, but I look like I’ve always looked.”

“No, you don’t. I saw you when you arrived. You are the idealized version of that man.”

“Really? I don’t know if I like that. I bring it up because I think I can make you a little better now. I’ve been learning, your core like most is small. I can grow it to a larger size. After the exercise we did yesterday it seems like it could grow a lot. Would you like me to?”

“Can you do it so that I don’t change in appearance? I’m only starting to come to terms with the new me. I don’t think I could handle changing again, but I want to be my best so that I can do my best.”

“I can do that. For what it’s worth, I’m sorry I just changed you before. I was foolish.” She nodded and I pushed my power into her.

“That feels nice Kyle, like a warmth spreading through my body, but it makes me tired when you enhance me.” She started to eat several cookies from the tea cart.

“I do agree with your decision not to sleep with Sophia. I heard the distress in your voice at her choice but do not judge her too harshly. This is a cruel world and for many women, what Sophia offered is common. She is also one of your guardians. We don’t really know what that means right now. It is best to not bring that into things until a stronger foundation is set with everyone. I will suggest you do make her bound if she agrees.
